1.      'The Mind Explained' (on Netflix)

/2019 Documentary; 2 seasons; production company: Vox Media/

Series that discuss the topics of anxiety, dreaming, multitasking, focus, andmuch more. It’s a good reminder of some basics and adds to our understanding ofhow the mind works. We genuinely recommend it if you want to gain some fundamental insights.

2.      'Connected - The Hidden Science of Everything' (on Netflix)

/2020 Documentary; 1 season; production company: Zero Point Zero Production Inc./

Another series, not directly linked to psychology, but which sparks criticalthinking in this area for sure. It discusses the interconnectedness betweeneverything and makes us think about our actions, choices, progress trajectories, and the consequences of them all. From surveillance cameras and facerecognition to the world of animals and their incredible abilities to analyzethe environment in a way that technology can’t – it’s all connected and we area part of it. Seemingly sporadic in its topics, “Connected” is interesting tosay the least.

3.     'Heal' (on Netflix)

/2017, Movie: 106min running time; directed by: Kelly Noonan-Gores/

A documentary that goes beyond the tangible science and tackles topics such as thoughts, beliefs, and emotions, and how they influence our overall health, and wellbeing. In other words, its focus is on mind-body interventions and has guest stars such as Deepak Chopra, Joseph Dispenza, Gregg Braden and many more. We found some aspects a bit “sugar-coated” or “skewed” but if one watches it to learn, it could be a great addition to new perspectives. One thing is for sure - it does pose questions and leave us wanting to know more.

4.     'What the Bleep Do We Know' (on Gaia or YouTube)

/2004, Movie, 109min running time; production company: Captured Light and Lord of the Wind Films/

A pseudo-science movei that according to many viewers is "one of the best spiritual science movies" to date. It’s trying to tap into the quantum mechanics and the impact it can have on our lives, the way we think and perceive reality. Keep an open mind and open that box if you are interested in unravelling the subjects. It may not give difinitive answers, but it does push us to think about the crossing points between our existing knowledge, the gaps that exists and how it all links together across fields.

5.     Hector and the Search for Happiness (on Amazon Prime)

/2014; Movie; 120min running time; directedd by: Peter Chelsom/

For desert, probably one of our personal favorite – the story of Hector! It isn’t scientific in any way, shape, or form, but it touches the soul as it depictsthe normal life of many people - routines, the ghosts of the past girlfriends and boyfriends, the lack of fulfillment despite all we have… Hector is a character that embodies it all and… finds the zest for life again by making different choices. A must see and feel good movie to enjoy.
